Contractors called on our expertise to safely excavate an area of London to avoid striking any services and to identify the utility lines underneath the road’s surface.
In order to achieve excavation at such depths, the Vacuum Excavator’s arm was used with extension pipework which increased the reach of the boom and allowed the pipework to move further down the excavation pit. Adapting to the customer’s specific requirements and needs, this ensured that the majority of the work could be completed from the safety of the ground with minimal disruption.
Whilst the ground was carefully excavated, contractors installed shuttering in the trench to secure the areas which meant that the CSE operators could then safely access the excavation to use the on-board air lance to work with precision to blast off the final spoil remains from the buried assets using compressed air.
Vacuum Excavation is an ideal solution when working in restricted areas, as the machine rapidly pulls away from the ground reducing the amount of dust created during excavation. The spoil is sucked straight into the machine’s built-in skip where it is collected and tipped in bulk at the end of the excavation for re-use or recycling.
It is safe to say that Vacuum Excavation was the ideal solution for this project as it is great for working in restricted areas and rapidly vacuuming the ground to reduce the amount of dust created during traditional excavation.
