The CSE team completed jobs on three, highly sensitive areas and once again, proved that Vacuum Excavation is the safest and most effective excavation solution.
Site #01: Airport
A Vacuum Excavator was required for this job in order to avoid causing damage to the automatic landing system cabling within the area and if damage was caused, the entire airport would need to be closed down for an allocated period of time.
To provide safe excavation of the area at the end of the main runway, facilitating the installation of the new water main was required by replacing the existing pipe that runs underneath the runway.
The job was successful, without causing any disruption the airport.
Site #02: Housing Estate
Our customer for this job had never seen a Vacuum Excavator at work before and so, it was down to our team of experts to ensure that the task was completed efficiently without any hiccups.
The job was to expose services to new build properties in readiness for occupation, which required a 20-metre trench as the soil was extremely fine, but Vacuum Excavation proved this to be an easy task, saving the site 2 and a half days work of digging and labour time.
Overall, the customer was very impressed with the safety, speed and efficiency of our Vacuum Excavator.
Site #03: Wind Farm
For this particular job, a Vacuum Excavation was needed to uncover 50 metres of buried HV cables and with a heavily forested, congested area with buried utilities, this project required a safe and efficient excavation method.
Our team were able to navigate the harsh site conditions, including the forest road access and wet ground.
Vacuum Excavation offers a faster, more cost-effective solution than manual hand digging. A standard Vacuum Excavation can remove 2m3of spoil per hour, while an inbuilt skip can hold up to 10m3 before it needs to be emptied. In short, one Vacuum Excavation vehicle will complete a job in the fraction of time in which it would take a team of labourers or a digger.
Another beneficial aspect of Vacuum Excavation is that it is a significant time saver.
