Extensive refurbishments went underway to vastly improve the rail services which also gave the contractors an opportunity to strengthen the existing bridge. With several utilities buried underneath the road surface, the safest option for utility excavation was required.
Vacuum Excavation provided the best solution to expose the buried assets as well as to allow contractors to lay new bridge reinforcements. Vacuum Excavation was chosen as the equipment is none to be less intrusive in comparison to the more traditional options, as well as reducing the risk of damage to the structure of the bridge and any buried services.
The operators successfully excavated metres of ground in order to safely expose all services lines and completed the work without any delays or damage to the bridge.
