Why Vacuum Excavation Is The Ideal Solution For Water Meter Installations

The CSE team were asked to assist in a water meter installation project in which a real effort of teamwork from both companies was showcased in order to successfully complete the job at hand.

Working in collaboration with a team of ground breakers, the road surfaces and pavements were dismantled by the team as our operators and vehicles followed behind to extract any material. This allowed for new pipes and meters to be installed, the ground to be reinstated and made safe before the team moved onto the next area.

This highly satisfying result in teamwork enabled the contractors to complete 14 new installations per day whilst minimising disruption the area and continuing to keep all teams safe during the work radius by reducing the risk of utility strikes.

Vacuum Excavation offers a faster, more cost-effective solution than manual hand digging. A standard Vacuum Excavation can remove 2m3of spoil per hour, while an inbuilt skip can hold up to 10m3 before it needs to be emptied. In short, one Vacuum Excavation vehicle will complete a job in the fraction of time in which it would take a team of labourers or a digger.

Another beneficial aspect of Vacuum Excavation is that it is a significant time saver.
